On March 30, 2018, I spoke at the March to Protect the Children in downtown Salt Lake City. The march, which was organized in opposition to the Mormon church’s practice of sexually explicit “worthiness interviews” with minors, attracted around 1000 protestors. We started at the courthouse and marched several blocks to the church office building, where protest organizer Sam Young delivered fifteen copies of the book “Sacred Stories of Sacred Children” to the church’s top leadership body. The book contains personal testimonies of people who have been traumatized by the abusive practice of worthiness interviews.
This Must Stop: Speech at the March to Protect the Children, 3/30/18

Katie – wow! You said it all – thank you! You are awesome. I’m incognito on this site since I’m still a member of the Mormon church. I met with you several months ago with my husband to discuss my faith crisis. You have a powerful presence and are a strong voice for all of us who have been affected by these interviews and those who will be in the future. I’m proud to know you. I’ll be in touch.
